NHSC-approved sites are health care facilities that provide outpatient, ambulatory, primary health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), which are communities with limited access to care.
The NHSC is a Federal government program that offers financial and other support to Corps Members.
DENTAL RECEPTIONIST
Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) is accepting applications for a Dental Receptionist at its Madawaska Community Health Center. This is a 40-hour work week. The Dental Receptionist is responsible for performing all receptionist duties including scheduling of patients, excellent telephone communications, computerized patient account entries, and being able to work in a fast paced dental office setting. Experience with an Electronic Dental Record system is beneficial but not mandatory as well as knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality. Individual must possess strong interpersonal skills with both patients and dental team. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED with experience in dental office duties preferred. Equivalent experience considered. Individual must have great computer and communication skills. Looking for a highly motivated individual to join a great team.

Medical Billing Technician & Outreach/Enrollment Coordinator
Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) is accepting applications for a full-time Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours weekly) Medical Billing Technician & Outreach/Enrollment Coordinator. This position is responsible for performing computerized patient accounts receivable, billing and collection functions. Experience with an Electronic Health Record system is beneficial, but not mandatory.
Outreach/Enrollment Coordinator tasks include enrolling members of insurance programs, understand how their insurance plan works, and assist with other eligible resources. Outreach/enrollment Coordinator also processes FRRH’s Sliding Fee discount program applications.
On-the-job training is provided. Qualified applicants will have a High school diploma/GED with experience in medical billing or certified billing, coding or equivalent and minimum of two years’ experience working in a primary health care setting and proven skills to coordinate and present community educational sessions. Strong computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Office & Excel required. Proven customer service, organizational and accuracy skills required. Applicant must have a valid Maine Driver’s License with dependable access to a personal vehicle for travel. Bilingual (English/French) is helpful.
