NHSC-approved sites are health care facilities that provide outpatient, ambulatory, primary health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), which are communities with limited access to care.
The NHSC is a Federal government program that offers financial and other support to Corps Members.

Dental Assistant

  

Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) is seeking an additional full-time Dental Assistant at its Bolduc Avenue Health Center in Fort Kent.  This position is responsible for assisting the Dentist in providing quality dental care to FRRH patients.  Primary tasks include recording patient vital signs in Electronic Dental Record, preparing instruments, materials and assisting the dentist chairside during dental procedures, complying with all OSHA regulations, working on dental lab impressions, and maintaining a smooth work flow within the dental department.  Individual must possess strong interpersonal skills with both patients and dental team. Experience with an Electronic Dental Record system is beneficial but not mandatory.  Requires a High School Diploma or GED, experience in dental office preferred.   Individual must have great computer and communications skills. Ability to speak French helpful but not required.  Willing to train a highly motivated individual.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

NHSC Loan Repayment Eligible

 

Accepting applications for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor to join our patient-centered medical home.  LCSW/LCPC will work with patients in providing behavioral health counseling services located at School-Based Health Services and Madawaska Community Health Center.

The practitioner in this role will collaborate in an integrated model of care with Primary Care Providers to recognize, treat and manage behavioral health and psychosocial issues while acting as a contributing member to the Integrated Primary Care Team. A genuine interest to primarily provide high quality care to child/adolescent population, as well as all ages. 

 

Minimum Qualifications Required: Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with the State of Maine. The candidate must also possess strong communications skills, ability to work in primary care as part of an integrated team, ability and means to travel between service delivery sites.
