Eagle Lake - Disaster Preparedness Workshop Scheduled

Eagle Lake - Fish River Rural Health will host a Pandemic Flu – Home Emergency Preparedness Workshop on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Eagle Lake Health Center – Conference Room from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  In light of the recent major flooding incident that occurred within our community, it is vital that different organizations come together to help educate and better prepare residents within our region whether it is a pandemic flu, manmade or natural disaster.  Jane Rioux, RN, NMMC’s ED/ICU/Oncology Unit Nurse Manager and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will present on Are You Prepared? – Seasonal Flu vs. Pandemic Flu.  Vernon Ouellette, Aroostook County Emergency Management Director will present on the County Response in the Event of an Emergency and Home Emergency Preparedness.  All participants will receive an informational packet and a Go-Bag including a checklist of items to add in the Go-Bag.  The workshop is free and open to the general public.  FRRH encourages residents of our local communities to participate in this event.  FRRH’s Health Educator, Sue Bouchard, BSN-RN states, “FRRH is very pleased to have two dynamic speakers participating in this workshop.  This event will educate residents on ways to prepare themselves and their family in the home setting, so when disaster strikes, we can be prepared.”

  Wednesday, May 28, 2008 - from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
