**Fish River Rural Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a National Health Service Corp (NHSC) approved-site. NHSC-approved sites are health care facilities that provide outpatient, ambulatory, primary health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), which are communities with limited access to care. The NHSC is a Federal government program that offers financial and other support to Corps Members.

The clinic offers the latest in optometric technology including electronic health records integrated with primary care services. Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) is accepting applications for an Optical Assistant at the Madawaska Community Health Center - Optometry Clinic, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm weekdays. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-starter, organized, and detailed-oriented with the ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced optometry practice. The successful candidate will join an exceptional team of compassionate professionals within this growing practice. The selected candidate will assist patients in frame and lens selection, obtain optical measurements, prepare necessary prescription orders, perform minor frame repairs and adjustments, instruct patients in wearing and caring for contact lenses, obtain price quotes for eyewear products, maintain all aspects of optical dispensary, document in an Electronic Health Record [EHR] system, and assist with clerical duties and patient clinical setup. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED required, with 1- or 2- years training program or experience in the field of optometry or optical knowledge, preferred. One year experience in retail, sales or customer service, preferred. Computer skills and knowledge required. Ability to speak French helpful, but not required.


Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) ) is accepting applications for a full-time RN Care Manager at its

Fort Kent Health Center. The primary responsibility of this position will be to assist in population health efforts, particularly those with chronic disease(s) and be committed to the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of area communities. Other responsibilities include, pre-visit planning activities, Uniform Data System reporting, Health Homes reporting, Medicare wellness visits, office nursing, Million Hearts, community outreach and other initiatives related to care management. Experience in a fast-paced provider’s office and an electronic health records (EHR) system preferred. In addition, experience with data and exchange registries, patient portals, and electronic tracking logs preferred. Ability to speak French helpful, but not required. Requires a baccalaureate degree in the field of nursing and possess an active/valid Maine license. Two years RN care manager experience in a medical clinic setting or patient/community health education field preferred. Must have the ability to travel between practice sites, patient homes, other offsite locations, and other work related trainings. Excellent fringe benefits available.
